Slice of Life: Music Tells the Story 11 of 31

My son walked into the kitchen as I packed my lunch and finished brewing a cup of coffee for the road.

"That's not your usual vibe," he commented as he heard the music coming from our Alexa.

"Just taking a dive back into the 80s," I replied.  "Every time I do this, I am confronted with the reality that the 90s had much better music."

"The 90s: the decade that made us believe the world was on its way to being a great place," he quipped.

"Giving us a break before the craziness of the next century," I added.  "We just weren't smart enough to know it."

We both laughed.

He wasn't wrong.  Requesting the 80s wasn't my typical morning kick.  Usually I was well into the playlist, "I Miss the 90s," or cranking some poppy singer or music combination.

This wasn't any morning though.  This was one of those mornings where you know you're on the precipice of big change.

Maybe this mix of 80s titles gives a few clues of stories to come....

It's March and I'm diving back into the March Slice of Life Challenge!  Buckle in!  This will be my 8th year joining the community (though I must confess to a two year break).  Yep, some of the writing will be messy.  Honestly, most of it will be messy.  Thanks for stopping by.  I'm excited to dive back into the madness.  Thanks to Two Writing Teachers for hosting.

  2. I adore 80s music. I keep the "80's on 8" programmed on my XM Radio in my car. Marc loves it. My kids are not as appreciative. :-O
