#slice2013   24 of 31

Thanks, Carol, for this "me by the numbers idea."  It saved me tonight as my other slices "I tried on" (thanks, Christy) weren't working out.

Me in Numbers
  • 2 the number of brothers I have
  • 3 the number of children I have
  • 531 the address of the house I grew up in
  • 3 the number of houses I've lived in
  • 4 the number of school buildings I've taught in
  • 24 the number of students in my class this year
  • 7 the number of educators in our family
  • 33 the number of states I have visited (I think)
  • 4 the number of countries I've visited
  • 11 the number of countries I'd like to visit
  • 3 the number of cups of coffee I drink in the morning
  • 13 the number of live musicals I've seen
  • 3,578 songs on my iPod
  • 10 teams still survive on my March Madness bracket (soon to be 12)
  • 2013 the year of the car I'm driving (yeah, it's sweet)

  1. I love this idea! What kind of car did you get? I've been putting it off because I love not having a car payment, but will have to bite the bullet soon.

    1. Catherine,
We had a tad bit of a car crisis so I ended up getting a new car sooner than planned, but I love it. It's a Nissan Altima. I think it might be the heated seats and keyless entry that really have me.

  2. Hmmmm...I may have to do the number thing tomorrow...but not sure. I am in Indianapolis and we are getting snowed in...so have not had much time to be on line as we were visiting the matriarch of the family who took in Peppy the chikecn...and she has not internet. Anyway...it was interesting reading your post tonight and I might do that. As for chili...I do eat it over some sort of pasta with cheese...and still pick out the beans. :-)

    1. Have fun in Indianapolis. Writing by the numbers is fun. Give it a try.

  4. I love that you have a new car. I'm not a particularly great car person, but I had to have a rental last week for a day & drove a brand new Nissan. I then realized that my honda, though in good shape, does not have as much zip as I thought it did. Also liked the whole "numbers" thing, as I did Carol's. It actually gives a lot of info, doesn't it? Thanks, Cathy.

    1. It's interesting to try to think about what numbers you would use to tell about yourself.

  6. OK, now tomorrow I want the words that go with the numbers. What countries do you want to visit? What kind of new car are you driving? Have you really only lived in 3 houses? And who are the 7 educators in your family?

    1. Carol, you are right. There are so many ideas tucked in here. Maybe that will save me tonight when I work on slice #25. Thanks for the idea!

  7. I love this - can I try it? And you forgot 29 - the years you have been on this earth.

    1. Please, borrow away. I borrowed the idea from Carol. I have pinned several "mentor posts" on Pinterest to get me started when I'm struggling. Ah, 29. I was trying to keep my age a secret. Now that I'm nearly 30 I try to not to have to reveal my age.

  8. Great idea for a post. Should've done this instead of what I wrote today. (Nothing I seemed to "try on" this morning was working.)

That's a LOT of songs on your iPod, Cathy. Must check how many I have. I doubt it is that many.

  9. I saw someone else do a by the numbers post. You are so smart to keep a list of mentor posts on Pinterest. I started one on Evernote after you mentioned the idea to me. This is a great idea!

You have ALOT of songs on your iPod and I'm still a little jealous of your new car. Every once in awhile I say to my husband, "I'd sure like one of those new Altima's like Cathy's." I keep hoping he's going to surprise me one day. :)

I think I'm going to have to do a numbers post too. I can't believe we are almost at the end of Slicing. Thanks Cathy for more inspiration!
