National Poetry Month: Good News 4 of 30

It's National Poetry Month. This month, I'll be on the lookout for JOY this year. In an effort to CHOOSE JOY, I'll share a poem each day this month about what I find.

Good News

The clock ticks.
The sun sets
And rises.

The clock ticks.
An occasional text.
A few updates.

Waiting.
                Waiting.
                                 Waiting.

The clock ticks.
Worry.
Wonder.

Waiting.
                 Waiting.
                                   Waiting.

The clock ticks.
Finally.
News arrives.

A new story begins.
Welcome,
bundle of joy!

  1. Congratulations!!! She is precious!!!It looks like all of that walking finally paid off!!!
The pacing of this poem, and the way you set up the line breaks for "Waiting/waiting/waiting" and the repetition of "the clock ticks" is absolutely perfect.
