Slice of Life: She Brought Sunshine 15 of 31

Today we took our youngest back to college.  She has been home all week for spring break.  The week went from cold and icy to sunny and warm.  Happiness was spending time with her.

Waking in the morning
to find her
asleep on the couch
after watching her shows
until late in the night.

Coming home
each evening
to enjoy time
hanging out
with baby girl.

Walks in the evening,
shopping,
family dinners,
cheesecake,
and conversation.

Home from college
just for a bit;
long enough
to turn gray skies
into sunshine.

For the month of March I will be participating in the March Slice of Life Challenge hosted at Two Writing Teachers.  It will be a busy month of writing, commenting, and learning with this community.  This year I've decided to try to focus my writing around happiness.  Stop by today's link up to join the conversation or find some great reading.

  1. This brings a little tear to my eye. I was watching my kids today thinking soon they will be doing the same thing. Sighs fill my head a bit. BTW Can't wait until April! Back to Ohio I go!

  6. Kids have that magical power to bring sunshine even on a day that seems cloudy to others. What a great week you had!

  10. Those college kids- they really do bring the sunshine when they come home, don't they? And as much as I know it's right for them to go back, I always have a hard time readjusting to the quiet.
