Slice of Life: Happiness is Found in Warmth 8 of 31

Here we go!  It's time for the March Slice of Life Challenge hosted at Two Writing Teachers.  It will be a busy month of writing, commenting, and learning with this community.  This year I've decided to try to focus my writing around happiness.  Stop by today's link up to join the conversation or find some great reading.

Some days happiness surrounds us.  It seems to wait for us at every turn.  Today was just one of those days.  The day began with breakfast with a group of friends who just make me smile.  Discussions of books, food, and travel over amazing food was the perfect way to kick off a new week.  My daughter is home from college for spring break enjoying fresh produce and home cooked meals.  My son and his girlfriend spent the day with us.  I tried a new portobello mushroom sandwich recipe that was divine!  We will be having that one again.  The day was filled with blue sky, melting snow, and warmer temperatures.  It was a day full of blessings and warmth.

Happiness was everywhere, but the rising temperature, the melting snow, and the sound of rushing water brought the hope of spring making the day even better.

  4. And now I am all caught up on your slices! Lovely, each and every one! This one caught my eye because we also enjoyed having our college girl home and because we have a river of melt running through our back yard! Spring! Yay! (I'll be needing that Portobello recipe by the way!)
