Slice of Life: No More Silence 16 of 31

No More Silence
Pushing
the front door
open
I notice
immediately.

Something
is different.
The silence -
gone.

The sound
of nothingness,
endless quiet,
replaced
by the sweet chorus
of birds,
chirping happily.

A melody missed
for months.

I attempted to capture the sound
with Nutshell.
Turn your volume up!

For the month of March I will be participating in the March Slice of Life Challenge hosted at Two Writing Teachers.  It will be a busy month of writing, commenting, and learning with this community.  This year I've decided to try to focus my writing around happiness.  Stop by today's link up to join the conversation or find some great reading.

  1. I've heard them too. I hope I remember to enjoy them all summer.

  2. I love the renewal of spring! I always focus on the sights (the blooming trees and flowers, the bright grass, the sunshine lasting longer) but I love how this post focuses on the sounds of spring!

  4. Ah, the sound of birds in spring. And the air smells so fresh and sweet.

  6. Love these sounds too! It's interesting to focus on sounds occasionally. Usually, I'm all about the sights, but I have a sound slice up my sleeve for later this month.
