Slice of Life: Saturdays 6 of 31
Saturdays
What could possibly be wrong
with a day
that allows for
sleeping in,
endless coffee,
slow mornings?
Why wouldn't we celebrate
a day without obligation
that allows for
time spent
as we choose,
simple moments?
What could possibly
be the problem
with afternoon naps,
walks in the sun,
a day to catch
our breath?
A good read,
A stroll in the sunshine,
Time standing still.
Carryout.
Movies.
Simplicity.
Why wouldn't we count the days
until Saturday?
Why wouldn't we wish for
endless Saturdays?

It's March and I'm diving back into the March Slice of Life Challenge! Buckle in! This will be my 8th year joining the community (though I must confess to a two year break). Yep, some of the writing will be messy. Honestly, most of it will be messy. Thanks for stopping by. I'm excited to dive back into the madness. Thanks to Two Writing Teachers for hosting.
Ahhhhhhhhhhh, it sounds heavenly! I was lucky enough to enjoy some of those things myself. :-) ~JudyK
ReplyDeleteOh, you had a good Saturday! Those are my favorite kinds. And I wish our Sundays were more like Saturdays!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds lovely!!!! I'm counting the weeks until spring break when I can have a few of these days!
ReplyDeleteNo carryout and no movies (we did watch the last episode of Wanda tonight), but I did the other things - a nap, a good book, a walk. And now time to read slices.
ReplyDeleteEndless Saturdays sounds brilliant! I love how this poem captures all of the joys of a Saturday.
