Day 22 SOL 16: A Trip to Mom's
Where the mountains
touch the sky.
Where the water
shimmers of sapphire.
Where spring
comes earlier.
Where flowers
color the earth.
Where brown
has long since gone.
Where everywhere
the world is green.
Where games
are required.
Where winning
is not.
Where dessert
comes first.
Where laughter
reigns.
Where no matter
how old you think you might you be,
you will cared for,
and reminded
there's no better place
than a trip to mom's.

Oh my heart.
ReplyDeleteSo true.
I love going home.
"Where no matter
how old you think you might you be,
you will cared for,
and reminded
there's no better place
than a trip to mom's."
We love having you come visit! I am sitting here this morning missing you all! The time flies when you are here. Thanks for putting up with me as a partner!!
ReplyDeleteGreat poem and oh so true! I loved this line in particular.... "Where dessert
ReplyDeletecomes first.
Where laughter
reigns." Beautiful slice
Love the repetition of "where" - it ties everything to this one special place - Mom's. What a special place it must be. My mom was the same - games required, only for her winning was necessary!
ReplyDeleteDessert, mountains, water, green, and games - your mom's sounds like a wonderful place.
Great poem! You are right that no matter how old we get, time spent with our moms is precious.
