Happy Valentine's Day 45/365

Happy Valentine's Day.  My first graders came in quite excited about exchanging cards later in the day.  In the afternoon we passed out cards and had a treat.  "This is the best Valentine's party EVER!" exclaimed one of my students (which is a bit funny since they are FIRST graders).   The kids exchanged cards and were thrilled with the cards they received.

Jeff spoiled us for Valentine's Day.  He had flowers sent to school (and Reeses on the counter for me this morning).  He had purchased chocolate and a little something for each of the kids.  They loved it.  It's hard to believe that 25 years ago he proposed to me over dinner on this night.

For dinner I made crab legs, baked potatoes, and a vegetable.  We had strawberry short cake for dessert.  It was an enjoyable evening spent with three of my valentines (don't worry, Cort, I ate a little dessert for you).

  1. As a SECOND grade teacher, I chuckled at your story about your students at their party- very funny! A similar scene in my room yesterday as well. LOVE the shot of the rose- how beautiful!

  2. You're really going to have to be less calm about these things. I had no idea you received flowers yesterday. I would have oohed and aahed with you. Congratulations!

  3. Carolyn I am pretty sure thats why NEITHER of us knew she had roses... and she PROUDLY (Jeff) displayed them out of site of the door- you actually had to go IN the room AND turn right to see them!
