Goodbye Christmas 9/365
Every year I look forward to getting out Christmas decorations. I suppose, in part, because all of the decorations carry so many memories. There is the nativity made by my great grandmother, the stockings purchased when Cassie was just a babe, the ornaments representing various events in our lifetime, and treasures made by the kids when they were little.
In the mornings, I love turning the lights on the tree and in the evenings I like to sit in the living room with the lights on as I read and work. I'm never in a rush to take everything down in part because I enjoy the look of the house at Christmas, and in part because IT IS SUCH A JOB!
This year, everyone helped in taking down the tree. Today I finished up by boxing all of the house decorations until next year. The boxes are now packed away. The living room looks huge and the house seems so clean. I guess I'll enjoy that for a few days.

I, too find it hard to take down the tree and decorations(as evidenced by the fact that they are still up.) I think that will be tonight's after-dinner project. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a daunting job, eh? It seems to bet "bigger" every year! Nice shot!
ReplyDeleteI too love Christmas and all the memories that come with christmas. But, once I know it has to come down, I can't wait to get it down. I guess it's the feeling of accomplishment. I think its much like the last day of vacation, you hate to see it go but once the last day gets here, you just have to pack up and head on down the road.
