National Poetry Month: A Seat for You 9 of 30

quietly it calls,
come rest for awhile;
just be.

take this moment,
breathe deep,
come sit.

watch the water fountain
rise and return,
rise and return.

listen to the silence
telling its secrets,
drawing you near.

come sit for awhile.
take in the world.
center.

It's Poetry Friday!
Today's roundup is hosted by Tabatha Yeatts at The Opposite of Indifference. Stop by to enjoy some poetry and/or leave a link.

It's National Poetry Month. This month, I'll be on the lookout for JOY this year. In an effort to CHOOSE JOY, I'll share a poem each day this month about what I find.

  1. A beautiful place to sit! I like that silence has secrets, and the repetition of "rise and return."

  2. Oh, the secrets of silence! Love that line. I can breathe deep and imagine the scent of those blooms!

  3. I saw my first blooming trees a couple of days ago, could not sit, but I took time to smell them! Sitting a while with this tree will make a difference in the day, to "take in the world"!

  6. Love all of it! Putting it in my notebook. The last three lines are magnificent:
    "come sit for awhile.
    take in the world.
    center."

  7. It's great that you have the time now to enjoy all these special moments.... Reminds me of your grandpa looking out the window and seeing all the birds for the first time...

  8. Lovely pairing of poem and photo. "Come rest for a while; just be."
